Cause family two: the temperature sensor and the door seal
Inside most electric ovens sits a thin metal probe near the back wall. That sensor tells the control board how hot the cavity is. When it drifts out of range, the board gets bad information and heats to the wrong point. A sensor that reads high starves the oven of heat. One that reads low overheats everything. Cause family three: heating elements and the control board
On an electric oven, look at the bake element on the floor of the cavity while it's cold. It should be an even dark gray. Blistering, splitting, or a bright spot means it's on the way out. If your food browns fine but never cooks through, or the reverse, that points to one element and not the other. Control boards and relays are the last family.
