Dryer Repair — Book a Visit Today

A dryer tells you what's wrong long before it quits. Clothes come out damp. The drum thumps. A burning smell drifts down the hall. Those are symptoms, and each one points to a short list of parts: heating element, thermal fuse, thermostat, blower wheel, belt, drum rollers, or a vent line packed with lint. Our visit starts with questions, then a look at airflow, heat, and motion — the three systems that make a dryer work. We test before we replace. If the real problem is a crushed vent behind the wall, we say so instead of swapping parts. We repair all major brands as an independent shop. Describe what your dryer is doing when you call us, and we'll narrow it down.

Dryer Repair — residential dryer being serviced

The dryer symptoms we hear most

  • Runs a full cycle and clothes are still wet Airflow restriction or partial heat loss — clogged vent, weak blower, failing element or thermostat
  • Drum spins but there's no heat at all Open thermal fuse, burned heating element, bad high-limit thermostat, or half the 240V supply lost
  • Loud thumping or squealing while it tumbles Worn drum rollers, dry idler pulley, stretched belt, or a rear bearing giving out
  • Smells hot or scorched near the laundry room Lint buildup against the heater housing or a blocked exhaust holding heat inside the cabinet
  • Push start and nothing happens Door switch, start switch, motor centrifugal switch, or a control board that lost its signal

Safe things to check first

Worth a look before you call — sometimes it saves you the visit.

  • 1Pull the lint screen, clean it, and check that the little metal flap outside your house opens when the dryer runs.
  • 2Confirm the door latches fully — a worn door switch will stop everything, and so will a lazy latch.
  • 3Look at the breaker panel: a dryer can tumble on one leg of power and still lose all its heat.
  • 4Reach behind the machine and make sure the flexible vent hose isn't kinked, crushed, or pulled loose.

Dryer Repair — quick answers

Why does my dryer take three cycles to dry one load?

Almost always airflow. Lint collects in the duct, the blower slows, and moist air stays in the drum. We measure exhaust flow and inspect the vent run before touching internal parts, since a duct problem imitates a heater problem closely.'

Is a dryer that doesn't heat worth repairing?

Usually yes. No-heat faults come from fuses, thermostats, and elements — bolt-in parts on most models. We check the cause of the failure too, because a blown thermal fuse often means the vent overheated the machine.

Gas or electric — do you handle both?

Both. Electric dryers fail at elements and fuses. Gas models add igniters, flame sensors, and gas valve coils. The diagnosis path differs, so tell us which type you have when you call us.

My dryer shakes the whole floor. Dangerous?

Noisy, mostly. Thumping usually means drum rollers or a bearing wearing flat. Left alone, a failed roller can scar the drum or strain the motor, so it's better handled while it's still just noise.

Should I clean the vent myself?

Clean the lint screen every load and the outside flap monthly. The full duct run, especially long or roof-terminated ones, needs tools and inspection. We check that line as part of a dryer visit.

How long does a typical dryer repair take?

Many are done in a single visit once the fault is identified. Common parts like belts, fuses, rollers, and elements are stocked on the van. Uncommon control boards may need an order and a return trip.

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Describe the symptom

Tell us what you hear, smell, or see. Grinding? Puddle? Blinking code? Small details narrow the list of likely causes before we ever pull the machine away from the wall.

  2. Step 2

    We examine the machine

A technician runs through a checklist: power, controls, sensors, motors, seals, drainage. We test instead of guessing, then walk you through the actual fault and your repair options.

  3. Step 3

    You choose the treatment

Some faults are worth fixing today. Others mean the appliance is near the end. We tell you which is which, then complete the repair once you say go.
